How time flies...finally, a new post. An update
Well, it's amazing how fast time can get away. I have now been at Memorial Baptist for over a month and it's been a really cool ride so far.
I'm really thankful to be here and looking forward to many more years of service with these wonderful people. It's certainly not without its challenges, but the rewards will far outweigh them...in the end.
If you have a minute, look back at this post and see where I was just a few months ago. Now, God has provided me with the place that He had been planning all along. The lesson is this: don't rush the process. As we have looked back over the last year, it is clear to us all that neither myself nor the church would not have been prepared for where God is taking us. However, at just the right time, God brought us together, ready to move forward with some creative new ways of doing things. As it stands, the vast majority of the people were so desperate for leadership that they were ready to follow. Me, I learned to trust God much more than I would have done had I moved right into a job. The process was painful, but the result...the promised land...is worth it.

David,
Great to hear that things are going well for you there. It's hard when we are in the midst of the lessons that God is teaching us, but oh so refreshing when we can look back on those times and understand why he was doing what he was doing.
By the way the link to the previous post didn't work, at least not for me. Here's the address that works.

Thanks, Rob. It is hard during the wilderness, but worth every second. I tried the link a couple of times and it worked for me. Don't know why it wouldn't open for you. Sorry. Tell Dee Dee we said hi and y'all come see us.
