What Does Osama Bin Laden and the Tooth Fairy Have in Common?
According to a Norwegian Imam in a recent edition of the Norwegian newspaper, Aftenposten, it is doubtful that Bin Laden even exists and more likely that the September 11 attacks were orchestrated by "Bush & Co" than by radically faithful Muslims. Why? Because, according to him, Islam only teaches peace. Actually, he is partly correct: the Koran does teach peace...to all who convert to Islam. For everyone else, all bets are off. The Koran teaches the lawful destruction of the Infidel under the blessing of Allah. Now, who would that Infidel creature be? I believe that would be anyone who is not Muslim. And 2 + 2 still equals 4.
While it is true that most Muslims thankfully don't favor violence, it is only because they are not completely committed to the absolute teaching of their faith. It's like people who say they are Christians even though they don't actually know or apply the teachings of Jesus to their lives. This is nothing new. The difference here is that Christ actually says to love your enemies rather than to annihilate them.
Just so I'm not misquoting, here is what was said in the article:

He also questioned whether the September 11 attacks were actually orchestrated by Muslims, and lent credence to so-called 'conspiracy theories' that suggest otherwise.It was the next part that was really hard to swallow:
Imam Zulqarnain Sakandar Madni also stressed repeatedly that all people must show respect for one another. 'If everyone respected one another as people, we wouldn't have any problems. But it seems everyone wants to show what great power they have.'Who is he talking to? Why doesn't he give a call to some of his insurgent brethren who are blowing up all of those people like animals?
'We want peace for everyone. That's what Islam stands for!'
Asked what he does as both a Muslim and an imam to prevent terrorism, he said he tells his followers 'that human respect is an absolute demand in Islam, and a good Muslim must be a good citizien. And that injuring or killing anyone is forbidden.'
I'll take that. I have a hard time believing he means that and I don't believe that, in its essence, this is a religion of peace, according to the Koran, but if he could get those terrorists to stop their mass murdering, I'll take it. I know, I know, they're just figments of our collective imagination and all of these car bombs and suicide murderers are desert mirages and all of these bloody bombing "victims" are just, like, cutting themselves to make other Muslims look bad or something...but just humor us, will you?
