Strange Quote of the Day: Richard Gere
- Here's a deep thought for you to kick off your work week. Richard Gere displayed his Buddhist prowress in the Guardian a few years back. I hope it's as meaningful for you as was to me. Really, I was deeply...deeply...moved.
- I know who I am. No one else knows who I am. If I was a giraffe, and someone said I was a snake, I'd think, no, actually I'm a giraffe.
Just...brilliance! Handles logic like a...like a surgeon. Wow. I am impressed. Truly.

Well, heck, now we all know he's a giraffee.
??
You're right--very Buddhist.
Or perhaps you could say he handles it like a...sturgeon. :-) I say he's a sturgeon. I know a giraffe when I see it.
To the anonymous commenter who didn't like the sarcasm exhibited on this post (and whose comment was rejected because no name--see rule number 2): It's not our intention to offend, but c'mon, that's a pretty ridiculous comment and it does exhibit the nature of Buddhism (which doesn't make a lot of sense) and, since the comment was made publicly, is open to public scrutiny (as all public comments are...including those made on this blog).
Therefore, though I respect Mr. Gere, existentially, as a man created in the image of God, even as he denies the very existence of that Creator, I don't have to respect the silliness that comes out of his mouth.
And while I'm on the subject, Christians that make dumb comments get hammered, too. As a matter of fact, I think I've even poked fun at myself when I've done dumb things, so there you go.
BTW, you're actually getting more airtime here than I normally would give to an anonymous commenter, but I did want to address the general topic. If you had followed the rules and put a name and email, I would have allowed the full comment. Anonymous commenting isn't allowed.
