This story is so crazy, I had to stick this addendum on here from a report I came across today:

"The sandwich bears the image of the Virgin Mary and has one bite taken out of it. Moreover, it is free from mould even after so many years.

Diana Duyser, a jewellery [sic] designer by profession made the sandwich in 1994 and after taking that bite found the sandwich staring back at her. She claims that the sandwich brought her luck over the years. And after more than 1.7 million hits to her page on eBay, it was sold for USD28000.

Antigua-based casino GoldenPalace.com plans to take the sandwich on a world tour spreading the word and let people see the iconic symbol of Virgin Mary. The sandwich made news when eBay removed the entry from their listings after complaints. However, later they turned it back on. GoldenPalace.com also is making money by selling tee-shirts and and sweatshirts based on the now famous sandwich."

It's probably the freedom from mold that secures its place in divinity. I wonder if it's free from shellac, too?
